High Performance Fax Solution from Axacore

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

Any small, medium or large companies utilize fax as one of their ways to send black and white information either to customers or vendors. Traditional fax is hassle, costly and has limited features. To overcome that, Axacore, a core technology provider for faxing came out with the latest high performance fax appliance, “FaxAgent”. Their primary goal is to automate the flow of documents effectively and efficiently.

FaxAgent can manage fax anywhere, reduce fax cost, increased security, ease administration and has reliable transmission. FaxAgent can be configured to send fax over IP enable network and this means heavy cost reduction. To make this happen, FaxAgent includes a secured web client allowing users to interact with the fax server over any public or private network.

FaxAgent can convert any standard documents into fax ready format on the server without any 3rd party application software. That means any files such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, PCL, HTML, TXT format can be rendered into fax format on the server. Users can preview the outbound messages before the fax transmission takes place. On top of that, users can verify the rendered fax image and also the destination. Users can send faxes by few options which comes from as simple as the outlook client and standard email.

When FaxAgent arrives at our door, there’s no need to think of any fax software. Everything has been done and we can easily learn to operate it from the system manual and quick reference guide that can be downloaded from the site.

Last but not least, when I go through the Axacore website, I noticed on the left hand corner, “document managment” is wrongly spelled. They need to fix this immediately and I hope to see the spelling corrected soon. Overall, the FaxAgent is a fantastic product that can definitely increase productivity of our business.

My Blogging Tools

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

work space

You don’t need to have a lot of equipments/gadgets to launch and maintain your blog or website. I myself run my blog from just one little corner inside my master bedroom (my work cubicle!). Initially I began with just a broadband connection, a laptop, a free blogger.com platform account, no blogging skills, zero blogging techniques knowledge, a family digital camera, a high hope and belief, a lot of hard work and sacrifice. A few months later, after further digging, exploring and learning, I decided to blog using wordpress with my own domain and hosting. Those were the only investments I made so far.

That laptop and the broadband connection are the only equipment and service I used up till today. I still don’t have a printer, scanner or other latest tech gadgets. More impressively, I also know some bloggers who do not even have a computer and blog from the cyber café or library. Wow!!!….that’s pretty hard to beat.

I’m planning to get a new PC to cope up with my blogging. On top of that, I hope to get a 4 in 1 printer, a new digital camera and a router to support my growing activities. Maybe I’ll get them in the second quarter next year. What about you? What’s your blogging tools/equipments?

7 Methods to Choose to be Rich

Published by zaki under Make Money, Rambling

Make Money

Everybody wants to be rich!!! But do we have the strength and the right attitude to be filthy rich? Everybody wants to have an extra income to pay for study loans, car loans, house loans, credit card debts, have a better live and enjoy a vacation on a beautiful island. There are various ways to accumulate wealth but behind them, there are many obstacles we need to overcome. It all depends on our mental strength and perseverance. Here are some of my own experiences and some tips/comments on generating wealth:

(1) I used to do some direct selling when I was studying. I sold phone cards, air line tickets, calligraphy art and some others which I barely remember. The money was good and I enjoy managing the business.

(2) After graduating, I got a job and my younger brother introduced me to a great opportunity on earning 5 figures income a month. It was a multi level marketing (MLM) or direct selling business (Passive Income). Being green, I was excited and joint him, learned the business and expanded my organization together with my girlfriend (now, she’s my beloved wife). We spent a lot of time and invested a lot of money on the education and training programs/seminars in order to build the business. We met tonnes of people, prospecting one after another. However, after getting married, our down-lines falls apart and the group slowly collapse! We were so disappointed and frustrated. After that, I joined another company, with the same ambition, to be financially free. But, it did not last. Until now, I’ve joint more than 10 MLM companies but i failed to do the business. At this moment, I realized that, I’m not fated to do this kind of business. Presently, whoever approached me for this type of business, I have to be completely honest with them that I’m no longer interested. I don’t fancy meeting up with people and explaining some business plan or products. No…Not anymore….

(3) Then I noticed one more way of being financially free. But, I guess, it’s already too late for me. I wish I was introduced to it at the moment after I graduated. Being an insurance agent/financial planner is a good career which can lead to great wealth. I saw many youngsters becoming a part time insurance agent/financial planner while still studying and working. They don’t have to spend any money, instead they enjoy the commissions and benefits plus bonus from collecting their customers insurance premiums. This career requires us to do aggressive prospecting, just like doing MLM business, which I do not prefer now.

(4) Robert Kiyosaki and his property success opened my mind for a real estate business. It is a very exciting and expensive industry. I learned and read a lot to be able to be rich from the property business. However, I don’t have the financial fire power to kick start my realty empire. Perhaps, later, after accumulating an adequate financial ability, I may be blessed with the opportunity to join the property market, I hope so.

(5) Bored of “Just Obeying Boss” (JOB) and limited monthly salary, I always consider starting my own business. I occasionally chat with some close friend at work about the possibility of starting our own business. But, what type of business? Do we have the capital to run the business? Are we mentally strong to develop and grow the business? As a university graduate, what will people say if I open a car wash center or a small trading business? Am I capable to work long hours until late night to sustain and ensure the survival of my own business? If the business is not doing well, how am I going to feed my family and pay my staffs salary? Those questions always haunted me and I know I’m not capable of facing those challenge. There are too much risks and commitment! Is it worth it for me?

(6) What about the potential of internet business? There are some people who tasted the glory and success of their internet business. This type of virtual business won’t require us to deal directly with a lot of people. However, having zero IT and internet background (accept for browsing website and reading emails), I need to learn all the tricks and secrets to succeed in it. I read somewhere that having an internet business, patience must be our prime trait. Internet business will grow very slow but surely speed up later with some hard work and dedication. It has an exponential growth effect. There are a lot of internet businesses to try: affiliate marketing, selling your own product online, developing a successful website providing certain niche product or service, selling some space for advertisement, running a blog like this and some others. Presently, I’m running a number of blogs and websites (I’m still developing the websites). I hope I can do some on-line affiliate marketing as well and soon have my own unique product to sell. I need to continuously learn and be updated with current softwares, techniques and approaches available. It can be very rewarding. I hope I can earn a descent income from it.

The good side about internet business: I can stay at home or conduct the business anywhere as long as there’s internet line, business operation world wide 24-7, flexible time, no need to deal, persuade or involve directly with people like MLM or insurance/financial planning business.

Some tough side of internet business:
Really require hard work in front of the monitor or laptop, you strain and stress your eyes, a lot of stuff to learn (especially for non-IT people like me), some commitment will be there if you run a newsletter or a blog where loyal readers wait to read your content, we have to compete with millions and millions of site and blogs in the net, income generation is low initially but will grow with consistent effort (it’s a matter of time).

(7) Last but not least, stock investment. This is one area I’m beginning to try my luck in. I’m educating myself by reading books, surfing related sites as well as discussion with experience colleagues and brokers. A friend of mine began investing in the stock market last year with initial investment of MYR7,000. A year later, he has accumulated MYR70,000! His achievement has inspired me to indulge in the business. I’ve injected MYR2,000 and I’m going to allocate another MYR3,000 next week. My target is to gain net profit of at least MYR500 minimum monthly. In a year, that will be at least MYR6,000. Well, That’s just minimum, I’m hoping to get more than that. I know it’s a very risky step but I’m willing to take the challenge.

Conclusion: Those 7 ways are just part of various methods to become rich in this world. They are just based on my opinion and experience. Hopefully, you can learn and benefit from it and feel free to explore other ways to become financially free.

Why I Blog In English?

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

Scenery

English is not my first language, it is actually my second. My mother tongue is Malay language and I speak this language most of the time. However, at work, during meeting or while communicating with my superiors, I use English. All of my written reports, instructions, paper works, reference manual etc also are in English. When it comes to internet surfing, most of the websites and blogs are in English. Even my favourite local newspaper is The STAR, which is written in English . In short I apply more English at work and during surfing the web. Oh yea…. and also during watching TV and movies. However, don’t be mistaken. I’m not that good in English, but I’m still continuously learning and improving my vocabulary, pronunciations, comprehension, writing and communication skills.

Having a blog like this, totally written in English is also one way or my strategy in improving my writing skills. It took me slightly a longer time to make a post because I have to carefully structure a sentence to avoid silly spelling or grammatical mistakes. I don’t mind the extra time because I know it is worth posting in English. You can also notice that I don’t use bombastic or flowery English. My writing are just pure basic straight forward English. Sometimes, I ask my wife (who has better English) to proof read my post and edit wherever necessary (that includes this post!). This is one of the reasons of me having an English blog –> to improve my English. The other two reasons are:

International Language

English is an international and universal language. More people in the world understand and use English compared to other languages. That means English medium website(s)/blog(s) have more exposures and more readers, hence bigger market to capitalize. This will lead to more traffic being generated.

It is such a great advantage to have audiences from all around the world. It is fun to communicate and associate with people who have an enormous difference in time zone than us (which means from other continent). A lot of things (ideas/opinions) can also be shared and learned, on top of the opportunity in making many more new friends. Who doesn’t like to have new friends, great isn’t it?

More Monetizing Opportunity

There are countless advertising companies offering money making opportunity for bloggers out there. All of these companies require English language as the main blogging medium. Some of those advertising companies are Google Adsense, ReviewMe, TextLinkAds, PayPerPost, Kontera, TTZ Media, and many more. By registering and participating with their programs, chances of earning more money from the blog(s) are more wide open. There are already a lot of part time bloggers changing their status to a full time pro blogger, thanks to the money making opportunities provided by those advertising companies.

Exception can be made to Google Adsense which allow some countries to use their own language (Indonesia for instance); and also local advertising companies such as Nuffnang and Advertlets (in Malaysia), which accept local language blogs.

To other fellow local bloggers, no offense in writing in your mother tongue language. It all depends on why you want to blog. It might be for fun, to share with others, to keep a record of your activities or to make new friends in the virtual community. I also read a number of quality Malay language blog and I found them very interesting, informative and attractive. As for me, blogging has become a very serious hobby as well as an emerging industry. I love to write and share with others. At the same time, wouldn’t it be great to get some incentives from doing the things that we enjoy? What about you?

England Out Of Euro 2008!!!

Published by zaki under Rambling

Macca sacked

England surprisingly shamefully trashed out of Euro 2008 final next year. That is a massive disappointment for England fans (which includes me). It’s going to be definitely awkward watching Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland without one of the greatest team (which hosted English Premier League – EPL). Who am I going to support then?!!

‘Useless, pathetic, insipid, spineless, desperate, rubbish,’ tabloid The Sun reported. ‘England are the joke of European football. I believe there are more swearing from the tabloids showering the entire week. How can Macca stand that? Perhaps he’ll be staying inside his house for the whole month!!!

England’s Carson frustrated

England surprisingly opted for suicide led by goalkeeper Scott Carson whose howler set us on the way to Euro 2008 elimination. What was McClaren thinking?!! This is as bad as it gets. This defeat ranked alongside the draw with Poland 34 years ago – which cost us a place at the 1974 World Cup – in England’s hall of shame.

The good thing – MAN OF THE MATCH: David Beckham: He alone tried to lift England into the Euro 2008 finals and if this was his final game, he goes out in a blaze of personal glory. He came as a super sub and awarded “Man of the Match”. He will always be one of the best superstar celebrity icon for me.

England’s Gerard frustrated

Sympathy for McClaren will be hard to find, yet this was a night when England’s players were shown up to be second rate. Gerrard and Lampard were poor throughout and they are the stars expected to shine when their country needs them. England really missed Rooney, Owen, Terry and the rest of the injured stars…Read more about the England disaster from Soccernet: McClaren’s Gamble Backfire; McClaren Sacked as England Manager; England savaged by media.

Irresistable Nokia N95

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

Last Saturday evening, I hang around with my friends after the futsal game. One of them just bought a Nokia N95 hand phone and I could not help myself from looking at it.

The Nokia N95 is absolutely a fantastic phone with a stunning screen. It’s actually more than just a phone. It’s the world’s greatest mobile multimedia phone. Unlike other hand phones, N95 has a 5 mega pixel camera (WOW!!!) with Carl Zeiss optics, built-in A-GPS, WLAN, HSDPA and an innovative 2-way slide!!! I grabbed the phone, explored it, snapped some photos, tested the games, and listened to songs/ring tones. It’s totally a superb piece of creation! However, according to my friend, the battery life span is short. It requires to be charged after a day or two. That’s the only downside according to him.

Nokia N95

No wonder Nokia came out with the new Nokia N95 8GB which offers up to eight gigabytes of built-in memory. Isn’t it BIG!!! The N95 8GB boasts a new luminous 2.8″ QVGA display – one of the largest ever for a multimedia computer – so that watching videos, browsing the Internet or viewing maps is easy. With its expanded memory, the N95 8GB offers up to 20 hours of video* or up to 6000 songs*. The N95 8GB multimedia computers are already in the market with a retail price of around EUR 560, around RM 1900-2000 in Malaysia.

N95 is truly great and even an Apple iphone is lacking so many features that N95 has. It can be used for navigation, wifi stuff etc. It’s an excellent multimedia phone but some people say it can’t compete with other models when it comes to web browsing, gps, screen resolution, business related tasks, keyboards etc. Well, for me, after exploring it, I think it’s a great phone and I’m tempted to own it, mmm….perhaps after the price gets a little bit cheaper.

First Futsal Game After 2 Years Without Sports

Published by zaki under Rambling

After more than 2 years without any sport activities, I’m back in the soccer business!!! Well, not exactly soccer, but futsal. Just imagine the stamina level of a person who haven’t been exercising and sweeting (a lot); and suddenly play futsal. At work, I rarely sweat because all the physical tasks are performed by my down line staffs and I spend most of the time in the well air conditioned office (20-24 degrees celcius). I’m really glad that one of my neighbour organized this futsal game. If not, I won’t be exercising at all.

Well, guess what? After just 5 minutes warming up, I already felt very exhausted. I pushed myself to the maximum and managed to score few goals (or some of them rather say blasted few goals!). At least some bit of skills that I possess on my younger years are still there. After half an hour I went out of the court and get myself some air and water. I cooled down and relaxed myself. Then I resumed the game.

zakiyamanidotcom futsal game

We planned to make the futsal game a weekly activity and the entire player totally agree on that. I hope my stamina will improve, become healthier and reduce my weight. On top of that, this activity positively strengthened my relationship with the community in the neighbourhood.

Something extra here… Check out the futsal skills video featuring Robinho (Real Madrid) and Falcao (the best futsal player in the world) having fun and showing their skills. Enjoy…

Swift Weekend Update

Published by zaki under Rambling

I contacted the Citibank credit card officer yesterday, get myself some informations, scanned and emailed her all particulars required. The information delivery was swift and smooth, thanks to the internet technology. Now, I hope my new credit card application will be approved soon and I can get myself the new HP Compaq Presario PC.

Thank God today I’m off from work. I make full use of this Saturday to improve my Wordpress theme and upgrade my Wordpress comprehension. As you can see now, I’m currently using 3 K2 Redux Klee theme. However, I’m considering switching to the new o2 theme freshly developed by Eches. I’m presently communicating with Eches to adjust a little bit of this and that for my blog.

I’m now rushing to complete this post because I’m going to play futsal. I got a lot of fat to burn especially after consuming massive calories today. I hope this healthy and social activity will keep going on so that I can achieve my goal number 5.

Maybe A PC Instead of a Laptop

Published by zaki under Rambling

I actually fancy a laptop for my serious part time online activities (goal no. 2 in my short term goal lists). However, a colleague at work informed me about the new Citibank-AirAsia credit card promotion. I don’t give a damn about the free flight to Gold Coast or Phuket or Langkawi or the RM50 AirAsia voucher. I’m more interested in the exclusive offer for the Citibank-AirAsia cardholders which allow us to purchase a HP Compaq Presario PC worth RM1,399 for just RM290. The PC specifications are:

AMD Sempron; 256MB RAM; 80GB HDD; DVD Rom; 17″ CRT monitor; Microsoft Vista Starter Edition, Free 1-month Streamyx (hotspot connectivity).

pc-citibank-airasia.png

Well, it’s not the best specs in the market but I think it’s a great deal. I can save some money purchasing this PC and make full use of it to make more money and get a far better advance laptop to pursue my online career! However, I need to upgrade the RAM of this PC to more than 1GB. Vista application require at least 1GB. That’s what I heard from some of my friends. I’m not sure and I don’t understand why they offer this PC with a Vista Starter Edition with only 256MB RAM? Well, I don’t care… I already filled up the credit card application form. The first year annual fee is waived. However, the second and continuous annual fees are not waived. Ops…There is some additional processing and delivery cost which is RM150. Hence the grand total cost of this PC is R440. I think that is still acceptable.

Besides applying the credit card to get the PC cheap, I’m going to used the credit card to book our family AirAsia ticket for our Hari Raya “balik kampung” trip to to Bandung, Indonesia next year. There are altogether 5 of us, and definitely we have to plan ahead. Try to get the best of the best Air Asia deal. If not, the tickets and airport tax and other costs will be high. Are you going to grab the offer too?
