work space

You don’t need to have a lot of equipments/gadgets to launch and maintain your blog or website. I myself run my blog from just one little corner inside my master bedroom (my work cubicle!). Initially I began with just a broadband connection, a laptop, a free blogger.com platform account, no blogging skills, zero blogging techniques knowledge, a family digital camera, a high hope and belief, a lot of hard work and sacrifice. A few months later, after further digging, exploring and learning, I decided to blog using wordpress with my own domain and hosting. Those were the only investments I made so far.

That laptop and the broadband connection are the only equipment and service I used up till today. I still don’t have a printer, scanner or other latest tech gadgets. More impressively, I also know some bloggers who do not even have a computer and blog from the cyber café or library. Wow!!!….that’s pretty hard to beat.

I’m planning to get a new PC to cope up with my blogging. On top of that, I hope to get a 4 in 1 printer, a new digital camera and a router to support my growing activities. Maybe I’ll get them in the second quarter next year. What about you? What’s your blogging tools/equipments?

I am a college student and I’m looking for a credit card to start credit history. I am being offered quite q plenty of them but I do not really like the terms and conditions they carry. I want to make my own, independent decision and apply for credit cad I like online. Now I just think which is better to have – a student credit card to build credit history, a secured credit card or no credit card all of which I’ve seen at

discover card zero percent balance transfers

    @ Tushara,

I know how and what you feel. I felt the same way. We were both very used to Blogger. Once we tried wordpress, it is not as easy as Blogger just because we were use to only blogger.

However, Wordpres is easy once we are use to it. I agree, the initial part is the most difficult one. I faced it. I asked for a friend’s help. I bought and read ebook on blogging in wordpress. I’m still learning and exploring wordpress. It is far more powerful than blogger and any other blogging platform. You should invest some time to learn wordpres.

    @ Carolyn,

I think you think ahead of your peers, at least financially. However, I wonder why you want to build credit history? Are you planning to set up a company or what?

Credit card must be own by a person who really knows how to manage his/her money or debt. If you can’t just forget it. For some person, they just keep it in case of emergency.

I think, for a student, if you can be responsible enough, you can try to have one credit card and be very very careful using it.

It’s totally up to you though.

When choosing a credit card think about what you need the card for. I deeply believe that credit cards are not for borrowing money but for saving. So think how you are going to spend your ‘credit card money’ and choose the right offer. There are many but it is always good to compare. You can use the list at

discover credit offer 3.9% for the life of balance transfer
