Adsense Payment Via Western Union Is CoOol

Published by zaki at 9:34 pm under Make Money

I know a lot of people (Malaysian) have received their Adsense payment via Western Union for the first time last month. I received mine last Friday. I was skeptical and wasn’t really looking on it. However, after numerous bloggers shared their experience withdrawing hard cash from the bank counter, I was triggered to try it.

Ten days ago I went to Bumiputra Commerce (BCB), Pasir Gudang to get my money using Western Union. It was my first time, so before coming to the bank, I read few blogs that mentioned about the withdrawal procedure. In the bank, I get myself the form and filled it with the details provided by Google Adsense account (my wife wrote down the particulars in a piece of paper for me). Then, I put the form and my national identity card (IC) on the tray at the counter. The bank officer took it. After few minutes, he called my name and said, you only have 9 numbers for the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). He added, I need to have 10 numbers for it. I was shocked and surprised. I exited the bank and get back to work. I called my wife and asked her to check the MTCN number. There was 10 numbers all together. She missed out 1 out of 3 zeros in front of the 10 digit numbers.

Last Friday, I get back to the same bank, filled the Western Union form, put them in the tray and queued. But, then I realized, there were dozens of Western Union form in the tray with a lot of people waiting for it. It will cost me a lot of time if I have to wait there. I took my form (+ IC), and move to RHB Bank, which is just next to the BCB bank and has the Western Union facility as well.

I asked for the form from the counter because it was not readily available at the form section. The form was different from the one from BCB. The Western Union RHB form surprisingly do not have the amount of money in foreign/dollar currency for us to fill up (Google Adsense pay us in US dollars). It only have the amount of money we expect to receive in Malaysian Ringgit, and that amount will vary due to the fluctuating current exchange. I did not fill that section. I just leave it as it was, empty. I went to the counter and gave the form and my IC to the bank officer. She asked for a telephone number from the cash sender. I don’t have it. My Google Adsense account information also do not provide that information. Other bloggers never mentioned about having to include the payee telephone number. Luckily, the bank officer was kind enough to check the MTNC and the payment was made to me several minutes after that.

Was it fast?

It was supposed to be fast. However, I can see that the bank officer is a new staff and work slower. I guessed, that’s why I get my money after 15-20 minutes. At least, I have real cash to keep inside my wallet and that made me smile. That was my October Adsense payment and it came faster than my September payment which is still not cashing in my bank because it took longer days to cash a foreign cheque. I’m guessing, the September payment will be deposited this coming week. Yahoo!!!

It is very easy if Google pay for adsense using Western Union. Still google is not paying for Sri Lankan adsense users via Western Union. But one of my friend get his payment via Western Union for his Google summer of code project. (5000 $)

    @ Tushara,

I think it’s a matter of time. Sooner or later, some sort of more efficient payment will be made available for you and the rest.

My experiences with local banks…NO TWO branches (same bank) and NO TWO official practicing exactly same procedure…even though same branch, the answer that you get via telephone (i used to call-up before i goes to bank) is different than the answer from the casher/official when you approach them…

The procedure for current may not same as tomorrow…when you ask them the reason…hahaha….management decision !!! This stupid reason will drive you crazy because you may have prepare everything in a manner per current date….

This time she/he ask for tel no. Tell us next month, what they ask for…sender address or sender relationship with you, when sender sent money to you,…all sort of nonsense…You ask them why they needs to know about this…hahaha…government policy (probably IRB)…

So every time, when i wanna to deal with bank…i pray before i go…haha…

    @ Joe,

Wow!!! What an experience you have there. Very interesting. Everybody have their own good, funny and perhaps bad experiences when dealing with the bank.

    @ Azwan,

OK, good luck! Just make sure you have the 10 digit MTNC numbers. Then, bring your IC. Some bank want to demand the photocopy of your IC. Just give it a try and you’ll get out of the bank smiling!!! :)

Hye Zaki.. Actually Where Did You Put Your Google Adsense Advertisement? Or How Really You Generate Your Money??

    @ Qaiyum,

I put them in my other niche blogs and websites. The adsense is not in this blog because it does not generate any income here.

Having read your entry, it has prepared me for my 2nd adsense cash out via Western Union.. I have already gotten hold of the forms. (1st time cash out being the usual wait-for-it-in-the-mail and the worse part after that, the cheque clearance waiting period.)

I was once a skeptic of make money online opportunities. Now I’m not. Safe to say. A note to all who want to make money online: Not everything out there is a ’scam’.

    Thanks Zaki.

    @ Soleh,

    Yep. You’re right.
However, sometimes it can be very frustrating. For example today, I went to RHB bank Pasir Gudang to withdraw my Adsense income. Unfortunately the officer informed me that Western Union is currently off-line!!!

This was not the first time. It happened to me several times. I hope this can be rectified and customer would not have to suffer from inefficiencies like this ;(

Its me again, commenting for the second time here. Just want to share that I will be cashing out my 3rd adsense payment via Western Union soon.

The 2nd (as mentioned in an earlier comment) was a breeze. took me only 17minutes to get the ca$h. I think also depends on how empty the CIMB bank is lah.

Here is my 6 steps to withdrawing adsense via western union (got images also):
