Kids Rule – Online Interactive Learning

Published by zaki at 2:56 pm under Uncategorized

In the house, our IT department have 3 laptops (2 in good shape and 1 is in ICU), 1 PC, 1 broadband modem, 1 wireless router and zero printer. Most of the time, the laptops will be occupied by me and my wife for doing some blogging, surfing and other works. We are comfortable because we can individually use our own laptop peacefully without interrupting each other.

However, I think the new generation is going to rule over us. Recently, we’ve introduced e-learning to our kids and they immediately liked the new education method. Ikhwan, Marsya and Alya became so interested and amazed with the colourful photos/screen, animation and the sound. Before this we never thought about searching those learning tools for kids from the internet. Well, there are a lots of those stuffs in the virtual world for us to grab and use for our kids.

After Goggling the net, we found 2 interesting interacting learning website which are ABC Alphabet and Phonemic Awareness for Kindergarten and Pre-school; and Online Learning Games from Fisher-Price. The kids love the interactive learning website a lot that it is difficult for us to stop them to use the laptops.

They simply love the interactive learning process. Luckily, Alya did not fight to use the laptop. If not, maybe we have to get another laptop for her!!!

They are learning via StarFall.com website.

Learning “h” for horse…the website pronounced the letter “h” and “horse”. This is help the kids to learn and understand the meaning of horse and how to pronounce it.

We’re glad that there are alternative tools to educate our kids. However, we could not 100% let them learn through the website or software. They still need to learn how to write and count manually by themselves. They need totally understand the concept. The interactive and animated e-learning process should be regarded as a different way to educate our kids creatively and to have fun.

Fisher-Price

So, for those of you out there who have kids, you can try it. While those of you who are dying to get married and have kids, consider this as some early information to educate your kids. The most important thing is that we are able to provide quality education for our kids efficiently and effectively. Adios…

    @ Aishah,

Yes, it is cool. But sometimes things can get nasty. My son, after learning, will ask to play online game!!! Luckily there are tonnes of online games out there – which means it is free. But, still we have to monitor them while they are learning online.

    @ Am,

That’s true Am. Not only the small kids are fortunate, but the bigger kids, teenagers and baby boomer are lucky because of the IT revolution. Just imagine what the world was like in the 90s….that time the internet was still on infant stage. i myself only had my first email account (from hotmail) in 1998.

Yes, I consider my kids (and others too) fortunate because we are providing them with various learning tools. But, there are still a lot of people out there who are unlucky because they cannot afford to have a pc and internet facilities.
Maybe we can think of something to assist the unfortunate…

    @ Am,

Ye la….that time a computer is bloody damn expansive. Now, everything has become very cheap. If one cannot buy them cash, they can still purchase via easy payment system. 1998, you had your own website…very good, very early. I tried but i guessed I’m not good at it that time. Now, only, I’m trying, learning and struggling to be good at becoming a (part time) webmaster.
