Secret Service Dine At Secret Recepi

Published by zaki under Food Stuff

We went to Secret Recepi, Jaya Jusco Taman Universiti, Skudai yesterday not really to eat but to kill the time. Before that I sent my spectacle to a nearby shop to switch the leans/glasses. We have to wait for 1-2 hours for them to complete fixing my glasses. So, I just whispered to my wife, let’s hang around at Jusco and have a drink somewhere. Then, some voice directed us to Secret Recipe. OK, we stepped in and I ordered the Blackberry Cheese Cake which is my all time favourite while my other half ordered a slice Chocolate Indulgence.

Don’t asked how it taste. You’ve gotta taste it yourself. It’s really …. After successfully consuming the super delicious cakes, my Sony Erickson phone rang and the girl from the spectacle shop informed me that my glasses are ready to be picked up.

Mysterious Package In My MailBox!!!

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

I checked my mailbox just now and found a suspicious mysterious package. The postage indicate the package is from Belgium! I immediately opened it. However, before I unwrapped it, I inspected the package thoroughly to detect any bio-hazardous compound that may jeopardize me and my family!

bizcard1

After unwrapping the envelop, I saw a bunch of business card. Then, I recalled creating the business card last week after LiewCF blogged about it. The free business card was a compliment from ooprint.com. Behind the business card, the following statement ad is printed – “ooprint; 100 FREE Business cards with www.ooprint.com“.

bizcard2

When I customized the design of my free name card, I thought of creating it for my future “Chemical Engineering Business“. That’s why all informations in the business cards are narrowed to my niche. How cool is that… :) To waive the delivery charges, I gave the coupon or code “obama“. Other coupons might be “mccain” or “clinton” but I don’t guarantee whether the coupon still works or not. Some source said that the coupon has already expired last week. I’m not sure… If the coupon has expired or cannot be used, you need to search for other coupon. How? Use Google… :) Or otherwise, pay $5.90 for delivery charges.

My Sweet Seventh Aniversary

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

This time today, seven years ago, I got married to my beloved wife in Kuantan, Pahang. It was an unbelievable moment. It was an unforgettable event. It was one of the highlights in my life…mmm…for our life. We changed our status from “bachelor” to “married”.

card

Seven years is a long time. Of course there are few changes and improvements in both of our life. Today, seven years after officially married, we are blessed with 3 beautiful kids: Ikhwan, Marsya and Alya. I would like to share few of the improvements that we have made… with God will. Following are few comparisons seven years ago versus today:

-We started with Proton Iswara, now we used Proton Waja & Kancil

-We rented a single storey terrace house, now we lived in our own double storey terrace house.

-Combined income was RM3,300, now …. hmmm of course more than that… :)

-I was a master student, now I’m a full time engineer

-I was hovering at 64 kg, now I’m 77kg!

-We started with a 14″ TV forgot what brand… , now we have 2 units of 29″ TV (Haier & …..)

-We don’t have any gadget, now we have laptops, PC, printer, 2 Astro discs etc…

-We used to go everywhere together, now it’s difficult because I work far 50km from my other half.

-We did not have any contract worker, now we have a maid!

kad

The card is given to me… from my wife…. :)

Enough about those comparisons…. Normally we will celebrate our anniversary with a very special dinner. However, due to some reason that I cannot disclose now, we postponed the date. We already have an idea where are going to dine. I’ll blog about it later.

Reviewing My Short Term Goals

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

Whether you realize it or not, my posting frequency has slightly drop in this blog. As an indirect result to that, my Alexa ranking has dropped as well. Actually, I have been doing some deep thinking. What is it actually that I want to achieve from my online adventure? What is it that I want to achieve from blogging? Let’s recap my personal short term goal that I set at the end of last year:

1. To have an online income equivalent to my fix monthly salary job. Therefore I can have more money… My online income is presently (at the time I made that entry) accounting only about 14% of my salary. I need to double my effort to ensure I can have both off line and online income. Would that be nice! It’s not easy but it’s not impossible too.

My comment: It’s not easy to be successful in this business. It is possible but I repeat, it is not as easy as it seems. You look at international probloggers like John Chow and Caroline Middlebrook; and local IM like Zul Smartusaha and Team SaifulSham. Do you think those people arrived at their current state just like that. Nope…. They are committed and they worked hard. I’m not sure whether they think they are already successful or not, but surely a lot of us do recognize and would love to be like them. OK, back to me, my situation… Really it is not easy. Often, I found something interesting in a form of video, audio, ebook but I just haven’t had the time to allocate to absorb the information lying beneath it. I hate to say I’m busy… I’m trying to avoid that word. I’m trying to be a little bit positive.
So, what have I been doing for the past few days, or perhaps the past few weeks? Continuous learning… I’ve been listening to the audio and video that I saved in my hard disc. Why? To create a strategy to speed up my online success – to have an online income equivalent to my monthly salary. Is that possible? Can I realize that? Can I achieve that? Short answer is yes. Long answer: it is a matter of my hard work, consistency and perseverance; and it’s a matter of time. However, I have targeted to achieve that goal by the end of this year. It is now almost end April and that leaves me with approximately another 7 months plus to prove myself and my family something. I’m now pressuring myself!

How am I going to do it?

I’m going to expand my pay per click activities, learn some opt-in-list building and slowly involve with some affiliate programs. I’ll try my very best to squeeze my time and energy to work on those lists… And I must not forget to stay FOCUS on what I’m doing. I can’t let other programs or offers distract me. I must discipline myself and stay laser FOCUS. Wish me luck guys… :)

2. To get myself a decent laptop for my online activities. I’m not looking for something super or marvelous. A decent laptop with a good processor with a 1 Gb RAM or above, hard disc around 80Gb will make me smile. The laptop that I’m currently using belongs to my wife and she need to use it for her work.

My comment: Well, nothing much to comment here. I got one already and I’m using it now. This goal has been achieved.

3. To learn and become well verse in Wordpress, CPanel, Photoshop and creating websites. I really need to master them in order to be successful in the early stage of my online career. I wish there’s a teacher or ‘sifu’ beside me who can teach the techniques and secrets of internet success.

My comment: I haven’t really covered this part yet. I’m still exploring and mastering wordpress. Haven’t really touched CPanel and Photoshop. Still not sure when to learn those stuffs. If there’s a mentor to guide me, I would jump :) !!!

4. To publish a book (or e-book). I’ve been dreaming to publish a book since my university life. However, I haven’t done so due to time limitations and various other factors. I think this coming year will be a good time for me to push myself publishing a book with my name as the author. It’s not the money that I want; it’s the pleasure of publishing my own book that I’m looking for.

My comment: I’m still working on it. It will be something related to my niche. If I can’t produce an Ebook this year, I may produce a report instead. I’ll be very happy to release a report via an opt-in-list. The most important thing is to work on the article content which has value, real value to my target audience. The draft is in my laptop, off course ;) .

5. To reduce 20% of my weight. I don’t dare to reveal my weight here but this year is a record breaking high. I look ugly in the digital photos taken by my wife. In order to achieve this goal, I need to control my diet and exercise regularly and effectively. Sometimes I just don’t understand why I’m craving to eat every hours!!!

My comment: Hmm… I guess I need to revise the target from 20% to 10%. That will be a more realistic figure, physically and mathematically :) .

Conclusion

Out of 5 goals, I have online realized one. I have another 4 more to work on. I need to:

1. Stay focus

2. Work consistently

3. Use all the time that I have efficiently and effectively = optimum

What about you?

Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled!

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

A colleague at work was very thoughtful to forward me an email containing the following content. I think it was cool and contained in depth message. We should grab hold of the morale. Are you the old man or the young man? Or are you having the character like the old lady or the sexy girl? The choice is yours. We are what we want to be… :)

joke

PEACE OF MIND
If you were to ask your neighbor,
“What would give you peace of mind?” he might tell you,
“A vacation in Bermuda!” or
“An extra hundred grand would give me peace!”, or
“A new Ferrari would make me content!”

But going places – and getting stuff – is usually a temporary solution …
Peace of mind rarely comes from getting more stuff.
Getting more stuff usually leads to wanting even more stuff!
Peace of mind starts with being grateful for what we have right now.

GRATITUDE is POWER

When we are thankful for what we have – for the friends we have, and for the things we’ve got,we attract more good people and good things!
People who always complain about what they DON’T HAVE, stay stuck. Complainers attract more things to complain about!
It is a law of life. It’s hard to explain, but you can observe it around you. We get more of what we dwell upon.

That’s why all the spiritual masters have taught the same lesson …
“Start by being thankful. Be happy with what you have now, and more will come your way.”

It’s practical advice.
Every time you say a silent “thank you” you become more peaceful – and more power.

PLEASE TELL ME THE WORD THAT YOU HATE THE MOST….

OK…. enough about those stuff above. Grab the message and install it inside your left side brain. Now, I’m asking you to shout out what is the ONLY piece of word that you hate this month? Why? Why asked this question? He he…. because I myself hate the word “BUSY“…. I hate it so much if I heard this: “I’m busy lah”, “Aku tengah sibuk nie…”, “Sorry lah, aku memang tak boleh…Aku sibuk sangat….”, “Sorry, I’m so busy”, “I can’t visit you, I’m too busy…”….

Gosh… I bloody hate that word… Even if I have tonnes of work, I won’t be using that word anymore… I hate it… I think I can also claim myself to be busy as well. But, hey…you and me only have exactly 24 hours. You’re not going to have the privilege of enjoying 28 hours or 33 hours a day. Not in the next life! If you’re busy, do you think I’m not busy? Do you think you’re the only human being in the world who is f—–g busy!!! Then, are you the Prime Minister? Or are you the US Secretary of Defense? Hey, I’m an engineer, a family man, part time blogger, going to be internet marketeer (IM), I spent 2 hours on the road on a daily basis and I’m damn busy …. ops… don’t want to use that word…. I’ll try and sneak out to get some time to blog…. You know what?… I’m substituting a slice (maybe more, my wife will say that…) of my quality time with my family to blog… Why? Is it for fun? is it because of hobby? Nope…. I have my own target… Not sure about you guys (but I believe you guys have some good goals as well from blogging). I’m not going to cover about this here. Perhaps in later entry, I’ll cover why I blog and why I’m pressuring myself to be online….

Bottom line, what you can do is highly optimize the time that you have. That’s all…. Manage your time wisely. Time is so precious that if we failed to spend it optimumly, we will be a loser…. Then, what about those guys who don’t know what to do and have all the time in the world? Wow!!…that’s good… I bet he or she may not have a goal in life… He or she may be so comfortable in life that they don’t need to learn, explore, be occupied with something useful etc… Personally I don’t wish to be in their shoes.

Ops… sorry for all the nonsense… I just want to release the 16 bars pressure accumulated in me. Hmm…to Budeen and Bent… I just read your blog and I realized that you’ve quoted the word “busy”…. Well, this is not meant for you. So, please don’t be offended with my nasty rambling. It’s dedicated to …….

Very Very Fast Update

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

Sorry, I’m tight up. I can only do very very fast update:

1. Going to host a birthday party for my daughter. She turned 4 years old yesterday. The birthday party will be held tomorrow, 4 pm. Anybody who leaves or happen to be around JB are welcome to come.

2. In a short while, we are going to hunt for a more expansive birthday prize for the birthday girl.

3. I have in my hands DVD Heroes Season 2 – Episode 1-12. A colleague from work borrowed it to me. Me and my wife… we’re going to spend more than 9 hours viewing this new saga.

4. My recent appraisal (increment) was “Alhamdulillah”… the bonus was also “Shukur Alhamdulilah”… Now the challenge is trying to preserve the cash. If you are a student, then this is something you might be looking forward in the “working life”. If you are currently an employee, I hope you get good increment and bonus :)

5. Income Tax. Good news :) My wife, the family accountant filled up the e-Filling site and we found out that those tax people owe us money. In another word, we don’t have to pay tax. That’s fantastic. Why we don’t have to pay tax? Simply because we have deducted some portion of our monthly salary and bonus to the tax. That is called “Potongan Cukai Berjadual” (PCB).

6. This Sunday, we’re heading to Batu Pahat to attend some relatives marriage (my wife side).

7. My sight is worsening. The power has increased. I need to make a new pair of spectacles. I think this might be due to a lot of blogging.

8. This will be our last month to pay our OSIM massage chair installment. It cost us more than RM4,000. Finally it will come to an end… :)

Repairing Our Proton Waja Door Lock

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

My wife brought our Proton Waja to the Proton service center nearby our house for repair today. After surveying two workshops nearby, she decided to repair the door lock there after discussing with me via the phone. Seems like the service center could offer a cheaper price than other workshops, at about RM250 per set. I didn’t know that small little door lock could cost that much. The other workshops could offer a price in the range of RM300-400 per set. Quite costly, isn’t it.

The door lock has to be repaired immediately because according to the mechanics, it is absolutely suicidal to drive around and park anywhere with the door lock gaping like that, exposing its inner parts, which is very tempting to people with evil heart. With such limited time, we don’t have much time to survey more, therefore we decided just go on with the Proton service center.

After checking out the color code of our car at approximately 12noon, the mechanics asked my wife to go back home first. It will take quite a long time to prep the door lock for the assembly, according to him. It actually took nearly 6 hours!! At 6pm her hand phone finally rang and it took only half an hour to be assembled. Now the door is perfect again, to everyone’s relief. It cost us RM250, but we are still relieve because we still have our own beloved car with us.

New Admiral Futsal & Sports Shoes

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

From previous entry, you should know that we went to Jusco Tebrau City today. That was the second time we went to the mall in the space of 3 days! My wife did not have enough time exploring the Jusco sales which ended today, that’s why she wanted to come for the second time.

Apart from some clothes for my kids which my wife eagerly selected, we bought 2 pairs of Admiral futsal shoes. The price for each pair is RM59.90. The discount was 50% which means we RM59.90 for 2 pairs – one for me and one for my wife. I play futsal while my wife play volley ball. Cool huh!!! Jimat duit…. :) My wife don’t care what type of shoe she’ll be wearing as long as it looks good and comfortable.

Somebody Evil Attempted to Steal My Car

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

I brought my family to Jusco Tebrau City Johor Bahru this afternoon. To our surprise, there were a lot of cars queuing to enter the Jusco parking lot in all entries (today is a public holiday in Johor). Experiencing difficulty in searching parking space last Sunday, I decided not to enter the parking lot this time because the amount of cars pouring in were definitely more. I parked just outside the parking lot and walked inside Jusco feeling relieved.

At 6 pm, we headed to our car and suddenly as I was opening my door, I was shocked at the sight of it. Its handle/knob was broken and part of it was missing. Looks like somebody evil has been trying very hard to open the door and steal the car or any valuables in my car. I guess somebody civic and with a good heart might have said something to the evil guy or he was just scared by the sight of somebody coming towards him.

Waja

Whatever it is, we were lucky weren’t we. I just couldn’t imagine if we lost this family car of ours. It is just a very comfortable and spacious car with excellent absorber. We just love it. Thank goodness Allah still protects us from the ‘musibah’ (tragedy). Alhamdulillah.

My New Multimedia HeadPhone – Microphone

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

I bought a head phone yesterday. It was bought to effectively listen videos and audios in the net. I’m beginning to optimize my time to learn more secrets hidden in the net. Well, it’s not hidden actually. In fact we must search for them. I’ll be using this headphone mostly while I’m driving my car to and from work which is estimated to be around 2 hour per day. So far, I’ve been listening and watching .mp3 and .wmv files on the move. I’m going to keep on educating myself and make my car my educational center or university of success. What do you think?

head phone

The head phone (which is a multimedia headphone with microphone) is manufactured by Ultimate Technology model HM350. I bought it at Tesco Sri Alam nearby Pasir Gudang. The specifications are as follows:

Microphone: 6×5/58 +/- dB

Impedance: 32 ohm at 1 kHz

Sensitivity: 105 dB/mW

Frequency response: 8 ~ 22,000 Hz

Cord length: Approx. 2 ~ 3 m (that’s very long and I like it :) )

Weight: Approx. 220g (without cord)

The cost of the headphone is RM25. Why I did not buy it at the PC Fair? Well, I forgot about it. I might be getting super duper discount if I purchase it there I guess.

I’ve used it immediately after purchasing it in my car. I’m so satisfied with the sound quality. Now, my kids are eagerly listening to MP3 musics using the head phone.
