I want to share something suspense and scary. It’s not a horror movie or a sadistic story.

Yesterday, we (me and my wife) went to Tabung Haji Kulai to deposit some cash. We have postponed the visit to Tabung Haji for about 1 month already. Well, it’s me. I’m too tight up with a lot of mixed commitment. Yesterday, I managed to squeezed in some time out of my Research Methodology ‘compulsory’ Course to make an effort to go to the bank. We want to deposit some money to our accounts. A small portion of it were our kids recent “duit raya”…

I’m not going to reveal the amount of cash deposited but I’ll just show you the money (check out the photo below). If you are wandering how much, why not make a wild guess how much was that? Anybody want to guess?

The course I was attending requires us to use laptop, so I brought mine along. I don’t want to leave my precious laptop in the car. Who knows somebody crazy want to steal my laptop!? So, it’s better be safe then sorry. I brought along my HP laptop bag together into the bank.

After all the cash was safely deposited, we went to have some lunch at a nearby KFC which is just a 7 second walk from Tabung Haji. As usual I had a hot and spicy snake snack plate and my wife had 2 piece of hot and spicy chicken as well + some cheesy wedges (no photos here) and we paid by cash! Soon after fully consuming our lunch and collecting the chicken bones in a plastic for the cats behind our house, we hit the road to return for the course (me) and work (my wife).

I drove the car and chat with my wife and Marsya (my daughter) on our way back. Suddenly, I realized that my silky black laptop bag was not in our sight in the car! I asked my wife where is the bag? She said, i was carrying the bag all this while. But, I was not carrying the bag and I don’t remember putting the bag into the car before driving. OMG….OMG…OMG….So where the hell is my bag? It was a total nightmare and I can’t imagine myself without my laptop which contains almost everything…i repeat…almost everything of …. I just cannot say it anymore….

We thinked very hard where the bag possibly have been left. I could not recall carrying the bag out of Tabung Haji, so I asked my wife to call Tabung Haji. She dialed 103, talked to the middle aged female telephone operator and asked for Tabung Haji Kulai number. Then she called and asked the bank officer about my bag. There was some silence before my wife revealed that the bank officer spotted my bag on the customer waiting chairs. The officer asked what type of bag was it and I answered it was a HP compaq black coloured bag.

I immedietly u-turned my car and headed straight away to Tabung Haji for the second time but now for a different objective. Marsya, in the other hand wanted to pee… ops…

So, as soon as we arrived at the bank, I parked the car. My wife went to the bank and I escorted Marsya to KFC and went to the toilet. Well, she’s just a small kid and she wanted to pee. What do you expect…

After doing her businees, we walked out of KFC and met my wife with the laptop bag. Wow… what a relief… Thank God…Alhamdulillah. Both my laptop and the bag are very important to me. My bag contain my pendrives (2) not including the 4 Gb I’m giving away for the November contest, several important documents for my pH.D, research, salary review form etc. And the laptop, you know… is the key to ultimate information gate way.

So, that was it. A scarry story that happened in one afternoon in the month of November 2008. Luckily it was a happy ending… :

Oh yea…slightly after completing the course, we fed the fish in UTM lake with Ikhwan and Marsya πŸ™‚ .

  14. cyza says:

Yes. I do think so as well. Nasib baik siuttt

  15. cyza says:

I’m going to get us an external hard disc soon. And also back up my important data in the virtual world too.

  16. rohaizad says:

That’s why I have 2 thumbdrives and 1 external Maxtor (160 GB) hardisk. I bring the thumbdrives for my outdoor job and the Maxtor will always at my home.

  19. rohaizad says:

    RM150 or Singapore $60.
    Quite cheap huh?

  20. titan says:

i think, when i still at darjah 1. Aku ingat lagi sebab aku baru je seminggu masuk darjah 1 masa tu. On da way nak gi pahang..

Aku tak nangis. Tapi aku pelik. Mana keta abah aku nih..haha..

  21. titan says:

    Yup. Totally cheap!

I have one PC. I have 1 laptop and i have one external hardisk with 80 GB. I think its enough. Both PC and laptop RAM already upgrade to 2 MB. So, what i need to do is push them work 100%. haha..

  22. budeen says:

when i look again at the pic, wow!! that’s hell a lot of money!!
mana dapat ni bro?? tak sembang pun..

  23. budeen says:

it’s much cheaper now.. i bought 3 yrs ago & it cost me nearly RM300 for 80GB!!

  24. budeen says:

i think another lesson is not to carry too much cash next time.. otherwise there’ll be another horror entry..

  25. samdaddycool says:

must be soooo notty that they want to leave you on purpose… anyway, taht sounds soooo brave!

  26. farahaznil says:

oh..RM150 is for 80gb??..hmm the price its ok..external hardisk is easy to bring it anywhere..

  27. farahaznil says:

hohhoo..this case also happened to me..but not me that have been leave..but my cousin..actually i see him that has leave by his parent..i also in the car..but i dont say nothing went his parent leave him..hi hi hi..thats time i think his parents just leave they son n they son will be go back by it self..this because he that time was he 22 years old!haha…i dont know why my cousin just wait at outside from the car..then without anything..they parents just leave..haha..suddenly i n shis parents see him running out to catch up the car..hahahahahahahaahahahaha..all of them just see me..they said why not telling them!

  30. cyza says:

Spend wisely, save and invest your money especially while you are still young.

We’ll talk about it at Muar later in December…

  31. cyza says:

Hmmm i’m wandering now…should I give out an external hard disc as a top commentator prize?

  32. samdaddycool says:

I’m really aware about my laptop. That case is really scary if happen to Internet Marketer as it is the precious ‘asset’ ! I’m still thinking how I can avoid of losing my laptop in public place (misplace)…

  33. farahaznil says:

    huhhuu..thats were nice prize u know…hohhhoo..its must be more competetive contest…ever n ever..hehe..

  34. budeen says:

    Why there’s a line under farah’s name?

  35. budeen says:

sam, try use laptop backpack.. it’s more practical, convenient & attach to your body all the time..

  36. budeen says:

that’s good bro.. much safer!! πŸ™‚

  37. samdaddycool says:

    how much do you recon??

  38. farahaznil says:

but sometimes wear a backpack lap top its dangerous u know..thives can see u bring the laptop..because my friend brother was violently by two man..huhhuu..they just want the laptop..actually what ever u do..must not too be expose lah…

  39. farahaznil says:

what line budeen??huhhuu..i cannot see it..

cyza – im starting from now..hehe..saving money by participate in any…work work…what work can i do after passing SPM? still thinking about thats..

  40. samdaddycool says:

I think that is because your brothert still a little boy.. Maybe someone older / more mature won’t have that problem…

I’d like to get that kind of bag.. seems more practical as it will reduce vibration, shock and swing to the laptop compare to the normal one..

  41. budeen says:

i bought for abt 150 2 yrs ago.. targus brand..

  42. budeen says:

the conventional case is even more dangerous:
    1. more obvious that we’re carrying laptop..
    2. bahu senget sebelah..
    3. tgn kena support bag, kalau tak goyang
    4. jalan terkedek2..
    5. nerd

    kalau backpack:
    1. hands-free – bawak motor pun steady
    2. less vibration
    3. cool
    4. org tak tau apa dlm bag
    3. kalau org dtg dekat, senang buka silat.. bag masih selamat!!

  43. budeen says:

    backpack pun ok.. πŸ˜‰

  44. cyza says:
