New White Proton Exora – My Own Review Version

Published by cyza under Cars

I received this car (my new Proton Exora) on the 25th of May 2009 (Monday). This post is published for the purpose of sharing my experiences as a user of the new Proton Exora. I’m not a technical person (automobile wise) So, my review will be in a simple layman language. For your information, I bought a new solid white colour 1.6 liters M-Line version of Proton Exora for the price RM 69,998. The price of the better version H-Line is RM 75,998.

I’m now a proud owner of the first Malaysia MPV. 100% engineered by Malaysian engineer. I support Malaysia products, Malaysia Boleh!!!

Following will be some short experience sharing of me and my new proton MPV…

Chronology:

Monday (25/6/09): Received my Proton Exora. At that moment, I have three cars in front of my house. The Proton Waja was in the process of letting go.

Tuesday (26/6/09): We went to Brothers and fixed the tinted on all Exora’s window. More privacy now… Released/let go the Proton Waja. Uhuk-uhuk… My Proton Waja enhanced version was such a loyal and reliable servant. However, we’ve made the decision mainly because the family has grown bigger. So, we need some space in whatever vehicle we have. That’s purely the reason why we were forced to let go the superb Proton Waja…

Saturday (30/6/09): Went to Wet World Batu Pahat and the present mileage is 980km. Need to service it at 1000 km. We love this car. It’s great and awesome. Spacious and quite inside.

Monday (1/6/09): Fixed the LCD DVD/TV player at Brothers, Taman Universiti, Johor Bahru. It cost RM1,300.

Tuesday (2/6/09): We got a GPS holder for our Proton Exora.

Wednesday (3/6/09): First service 1000 km

Side Angle. Actually I already hit 1180km. I serviced my Proton Exora at Proton Service Center at Taman Teratai, Johor Bahru. Ironically, my Proton Exora was the first one of its kind to be serviced there. So, for the sake of White Proton Exora enthusiasist, sorry to only include these set of photos (while servicing) for the time being. I have problem with both my digital camera and camera phone. You can see from this photos that I’ve fixed the tinted and already pasted black smooth sticker between the windows to make the entire window area black in colour. The cost of tinted + sticker is RM350. I did not choose the special V-cool tinted or other more expansive one. The tinted was fixed at Brothers Taman Universiti, Skudai.

Side + Rear Angle View. The significant differences between H-Line and M-Line (mine is M-Line) from this angle is I don’t have the “top spoiler” and the bar is the same colour as the MPV body. H-Line rear bar is chrome coloured.

Another side and rear angle. I’m glad we get white Proton Exora. I think white is nice…

Front angle view. The front bonnet is not properly closed, that’s why you can see the gap there. One of my next project is to install nice cool fog light under the bumper. Also, when Proton Exora skirting is available, I’ll get it done for my Exora.

Front Angle View – closed up.

Front Angle 30 degrees. Proton Exora touch down.

Final check before the technician test drive the car again.

We installed the 10.4 inch LCD DVD/TV Player at Brothers. It was a little bit tricky to fix this huge set. They Brother’s crew, approximately around 5-7 all of them managed to get the work done under 1 hour. They screwed the based onto the metal top frame of the Proton Exora. The original LCD DVD player in H-Line is white colour and is customize for only Proton Exora. Cost of this set is RM1,300. The LCD DVD/TV player also has a pair of white lights, built in speakers and come with a slime sleek remote control. The player sound is connected to the Proton Exora sound system by FM frequency.

Viewing the LCD – not switched on. I’ll post it later when we play a DVD cartoon. Just bought few DVDs for my kids.

The dash board interior. Notice, on the top side, we just fixed a holder for our GPS. Inside M-Line, there’s no GPS and GPS holder. So, we have to get one from a local hand phone shop which cost us around RM30.

The Proton Exora engine. I can’t really comment on this. I’m not that technical to explain how the engine works or perform. I leave it to the technicians and mechanics to do what ever necessary.

Wait for later updates.

6 Days Downtime

Published by cyza under Blogging ~ Sharring

If you came to my domain recently, you’ll be amazed because you saw something else and not this lovely site. I had some bad experience with a hosting company that I’m attached to. which resulted to few of my weblogs suspended. I don’t know what went wrong and the hosting company also could not figure it out either. I was forced to migrate to another hosting company, rawanaz.com, which I’m extremely happy with. They’ve provided superb service in assisting me all the way.

Does it effect my online income?

Luckily I’m not yet up to that super duper level where I earn substantial cash from the net. But I can say it did slightly affected my earning in few ways. And because of that, I’m going to take extra precaution on all my accounts in all hosting. I used to have 2 hosting but now I’m down to 1 only. I’m going to look around for other reliable hosting(s) to hold tight of my domains.

My adsense income is slightly effected but I still manage to earn enough in May 2009 (to be withdrawed in June) despite the breakdown. Luckily my other blogs hosted with blogspot.com are actively running. They are no worries with those blogs. My revresponse earnings are spectacularly running smooth as well, thanks also to my blogspot.com blogs.

However, Linkadage has canceled off my account with them simply because they failed to detect their codes inside one of my blog which until now is still not active. No need to mention which one. There goes one contributor to my paypal account.

Moral of the Incident…

Hmmm I can think some good morals. One of them which is very important is to spread your domains into few hosting companies.

Ops…need to fill up my tummy and get my April Adsense income from western union…c u later… to be continued

Nizar, Menteri Besar Perak

Published by cyza under Blogging ~ Sharring

Wow… Stunning news. Datuk Nizar is now!!! Check out the news below which is adopted from Malaysiakini. Perak really have such an interesting political soap opera!!!

……………………………………….

“Bagaimana jika menteri besar enggan meletakkan jawatan?

(i) Tidak terdapat pembubaran DUN Perak;

(iii) Tidak terdapat peletakan jawatan menteri besar Perak.

Jingga Studies, The Eye Specialist

Published by cyza under review

After missing a review last week, I’m back with a new blog review after making my debut review on Samdaddycool blog 2 weeks ago. This time I’m going to review my friend’s blog who is a medical doctor (Alie, correct me if I’m wrong with this fact). He is currently doing his masters to be come a eye specialist in Kuantan, Pahang.

Alie runs a blog called Jingga Studies on a blogspot.com platform. He created his blog on 17th March 2007 and published his debut post called number one.  He blogs pretty much about anything that lingers around him and what he is interested with, that’s normal right. I can say that he normally blogs about current political affairs, traveling, life, sometimes about his story as a doctor etc. One story that is quite interesting is Kena Belasah. I’m certainly not that kind of patient or father’s patient but Alie handled the situation professionally. There are some other doctors out there who could not be stand it and launch an attack to the furious patient.

One important page that is not incorporated inside Jingga Studies is the About page. This is definitely one of blogspot.com weaknesses. About page is crucial for first time visitors to know more about the blogger behind Jingga Studies and also to comprehend what is the blog all about. I would recommend Alie to tweak his codes a little bit and insert an About page. There’s some way to do this. One way is to set up a new blogspot.com account and treat it as your About page, then link it to Jingga Studies. Another way of doing it is to change your blog template to the one which has several other pages inside the main page. GeckoandFly.com has some interesting looking blogspot.com theme with pages inside it.

Another point that I observe from Alie’s blog is there’s no monetization. This is totally optional. Off course some bloggers are eager to share their thoughts and experiences and not to make money. Alie is one of them. From his blog, we can say that he is not intending to make any money. Just like me here in Cyza Sector. We just share my experience and information. There’s no ads inside here.

I would like to recommend Alie to move into a higher level of blogging using a wordpress platform. Wordpress blog is powerful and we can use many plugins to optimize the functions.

I would also like to recommend Alie to install a feedburner account to get other readers to get email updates from his writing. I’ll be very happy to be among your first subscribers after you introduce the feedburner subscribe by email in your blog.

So, head straight to Jingga Studies and see the mindset and adventure of an eye specialist.

p/s: What do you Alie…?

It’s my birthday today and I’m declaring it a holiday!!! Yeyyy… :) . I’m 33 years old now and that’s old enough for me. I have 3 wonderful growing kids. My family is expanding. Recommended: Catatan Hati Nik Nur Madihah Book

Published by cyza under Blogging ~ Sharring

My wife went to Jusco alone yesterday and I was surprised when she bought a book (it’s the first book she bought since we got married 8 years ago). The book is called “Catatan Hati Nik Nur Madihah“. If you wonder who she is, let me briefly introduce her. Nik Nur Madihah is a fantastic, brilliant and superb girl who scored 20As in SPM 2008. She’s currently the national record holder for SPM candidate with the highest amount of “A”. She’s the oldest of 4 in a simple and poor family dwelling in Kelantan. Her father works as a fisherman and her mother a full time house wife. Enough of describing her… you need to read her book.

The book is so good that it made me and my wife completed reading it by midnight (she brought it home at 7pm). Of course we took turns reading the book. Reading the book made me almost cry. Nik Nur Madihah story of success and the way she lead her life should be an example to everybody, i mean parents and children. If the book almost made me cry in several chapters, it already made my wife cried heavily!!! But, she did not cried in front of me… ;) fearing I’ll make a joke on her…. huhu…

OK, let me just share one example of her attitude and dedication…

When she was in form 4 (if I’m not mistaken), she need to learn Arabic language, thus she need to refer to an Arabic-Malay translation book/dictionary. Unfortunately, she could not afford to buy the book. Out of a sudden, she got an idea. She borrowed the book from her friend and then she…..

Enough…. the book, which is in simple but relaxing Malay language cost RM25 but it’s a really honestly splendid investment. Share the book with those you love and see them change positively. Get it from the nearest book store. It’s a good investment…

BlackBerry overtakes iPhone!

Published by cyza under Gadget ~ Technology

What does that mean? Does it mean that Blackberry (in this case, smart phone Blacberry Storm) is gaining more popularity than iPhone 3G. Should iPhone change it marketing strategy? Should iPhone reduce the price and create better offer for their prospective customers world wide?

This is true as stated in a special report: BlackBerry Curve overtakes iPhone as most popular smartphone from Yahoo Tech.

Chalk it up to the fact that the Curve is available on the four biggest U.S. carriers, not to mention a two-for-one sale on Verizon Wireless. Also in the top five for the first quarter of 2009: The Storm and the T-Mobile G1.
The NPD Group just released its U.S. smartphone sales numbers for Q1, and according to their numbers, RIM had BlackBerrys in three of the top five positions, and managed to topple the iPhone 3G from the top of the list.

Despite its early launch woes, the touchscreen BlackBerry Storm appears to be selling strongly, coming in a No. 3 on NPD’s list behind the Curve and the iPhone 3G.

After the Storm comes the ever-popular BlackBerry Pearl—which, like the Curve, is available on all four major U.S. carriers—followed by the Android-powered G1 on T-Mobile.

So, how did the Curve manage to overtake the iPhone 3G? Well, as the NPD group notes, availability on all the big carriers always helps (the iPhone is, of course, still only on AT&T), as well as its $99 (with a new two-year contract) price tag. Meanwhile, Verizon Wireless probably helped boost Curve sales with its “buy one, get one free” promotion, according to NPD.  Read Full Story.

For me, for the time being, I’m going to watch and see. iPhone is definitely a fantastic and amazing handphone. I have not yet seen Blacberry Storm which in some review gained numerous positive praises. However, a cheaper option which I suddenly discover earlier today is a smartphone from Toshiba, which my colleague just bought. It’s a cheap touchscreen smartphone which slides. Hmm.. well, I’ll just settle with the Samsung U700 for now until I have extra cash to spare on new gadgets.
