AirAsia Irresponsible?
Guys,
Our maid is scheduled to undergo her semester break this coming December, back to her hometown in Surabaya. We’ve booked AirAsia Flight Ticket for her. Then suddenly AirAsia emailed and sms us.
Check out this email from AirAsia:

Dear Valued Guest,
AirAsia regrets to advise that our flight AK5604, scheduled to depart from Johor Bahru (JHB) to Surabaya (SUB) on 01Dec,03Dec,05Dec,08Dec and 10Dec09 is now CANCELLED.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We appreciate your understanding of our position in this matter and hope your future flights with us will be pleasant and problem free.
Yours Sincerely,
AirAsia Bhd.

What the hell? We can understand about whatever problem they might be facing. But why nothing is being mentioned about paying back or refunding the ticket price!!! Or even ask us to go to the ticket counter to solve the problem/redeem the ticket money or even help to reschedule the flight.
We’ve tried calling AirAsia just now and we were forced to wait up to 45 minutes, but still nobody answered! We gave up calling them, not wanting to waste our phone bill waiting for their operator to answer.
Have any of you experience such thing? What did you do to solve the problem.
This is our first time facing such a trouble. Before this, AirAsia has been OK, if not satisfactory. But we’re very disappointed, our maid is even frustrated > no wonder she went to bed early!!!
NOTE: We have already settled the problem. Please read my post AirAsia Issue Settled.

[...] Furious with AirAsia, we went to AirAsia Office at Senai Airport. We kindly explained to the officer in-charge of the situation. She then refered to another person before asking us which date we would like to transfer the flight. It seems that AirAsia has already cut the number of flights from Johor Bahru to Surabaya. [...]

The email is ok, but not putting further info on what to do or who to contact is BAD!

No ticket refund. They don’t accept it. That’s fine as long as we can reschedule the flight which we have managed to do just now. So, now the maid is happy.
