Once upon a time on Tuesday afternoon

The time was 5.15pm, my official working has ended. I used to work till 6.10pm and then fetch my eldest son from his primary school which was nearby located. However, yesterday, I went out of office relatively earlier to fetch my wife who had an important day trip meeting in Kuala Lumpur. She was on her way and called me as soon as she reached Kulai, a district north to JB and Senai. I need to fetch her from Biro Inovasi Perundingan (BIP), one of the important division in my university who manages consultation and contract. I don’t want to be late. I plan to wait while reading my new motivational book which I just purchased from Taman Universiti MPH (will cover this later). As I reached the ground floor using my favourite stair case route, I saw this technician who very rarely converse with me. He shouted while walked to my direction swiftly…
“Dr. tak main bola ke?”
I continued walking…
He shouted again, “Dr… Dr. main bola tak?”
At first, I thought he meant somebody else. I ignored him. But then, at the corner of the building I stopped and waited. I want to confirm whether he is really talking to me or not.
As soon as he was just infront of me, he asked again, “Dr. tak main bola ke? Hari ni ada bola. Tadi pagi baru tau… Player cukup-cukup je”.
I was shocked! Double shock!
First, I was shocked because he addressed me as “doctor”, as if I have successfully completed my Ph.D. That is very rare for a staff to call me that. Once in a while there are students who also addressed me as doctor. Well, I need to get a hang of it. Nice… Secondly, I was shocked because I wasn’t told that there is a soccer inter department match going on in 15 minutes time.
“Ye ke?” I responded. “Takde sapa-sapa bagi tau pun?” I added.
“Ye, memang ada… Baru tadi pagi dapat tau”, the technician responded to my question.
“OK, takpe, nanti aku datang”, I concluded the conversation and rushed myself to BIP. I drove my white Exora and as soon as I reached BIP, I parked the car under the shades, turned of the engine, lowered down the side screen shield and began reading my the 250 pages book.
Within 3-4 minutes, my wife arrived in BIP’s Naza Ria. As she joined me in our car, I told her I have a soccer match. I need to play. So, we rushed back home to get all my gears and hers. My wife is on intensive volleyball training, preparing herself and the team for this June’s inter varsity tournament held in USM.
To make long story short, I arrived at the field, removed my t-shirt and wore the dark red number 9 coloured jersey. I played the whole second half at an unfamiliar position – left back. I never played that position. I normally play as a left winger.
At the end of the match, we drew with PSZ (UTM library) and my right knee needed some medical attention… I cannot walked smoothly!!! haha….

aktiviti2 sukan bersama bloger2 ni memang patut diadakan since semua terlalu asyik duduk depan skrin tanpa melakukan aktibiti fizikal. takut akan merosakkan atau menghilangkan fungsi bahagian tubuh badan. so, pada bloger2 sekalian termasuk la saya ni, exercise lah selalu

Yep, you are right. We have played futsal twice this year. But then, it was tough to arrange futsal. But the funny thing, arranging Ayam penyet is not difficult.

Haha…it wasn’t really my choice. I was given the number and jersey. Remember, I came late, I knew late. It doesn’t really matter as long as I played and contributed.
Just watched Iron Man II. It wasn’t as exciting and as good as Kick Ass… My 2 cent.
