When grandfather & grandchild email each other…

email-marsya

My father cc the email above to me while replying to Marsya. It was Marsya’s first email to her grandfather after learning about email last week. I love to read this email because it shows the interaction between a 6 year old kid with her 64 year old grandfather. The age gap is 58 years and how amazing technology can connect them both.

Marsya sent the email yesterday and she waited for Tokwan (grandfather) to reply fast. However, we have to inform that Tokwan can only reply tomorrow (today) when he is in office. Today, Tokwan replied and I witness this miracle and I’m very happy.

The sentence highlighted in blue is written by Marsya. In English in sound:

Grandfather, how are you doing? If you are healthy, Marsya will be happy.

Was that cute? My father replied:

I’m good Marsya. Thanks for this email. I’ll pray that you can be clever and grow quickly so that you can go to school. I love it when my grandchildren can often email me.

The reply was equally cute for me…

Cyza,
Really cute tapi how come your daughter spelled ‘sihat’ as ‘sehat’? Ke DBP sudah tukar spelling like what happened to ‘Baru vs Baharu’? :)

Warlord,
Marsya is still 6 years old, not even standard 1. I’m letting her to write like that and will improve/correct her spelling progressively.

Haha… you are right. But, I think you better guide them to register those email.

Among the hardest part is to get them understand what the heck is the password…

There are other tricky thing such as what is a blog and so on…

But it is really interesting experience.

My kids have no problem with password. They know what it means because whenever they click on something that requires parental guidance the password box will pop up and they know without it they cud not enter. I use kaspersky to help me control where my kids go.

It happens when you get off your easy chair and make the effort to see what matters to your grandchild.
