My Son Sold Me His Malaysia 50 Cent Coin (1973)
Earlier today, I checked my coin album to see if I have the 50 cent coins made in 1973 that my son Ikhwan possess. To my surprise, I don’t have that particular coin yet. For the time being, I keep my coin collection and albums in my office. I need more album because I have tremendous amount of coins now!!! I arranged it nicely on one of my book rack.
Knowing I don’t have the Malaysia’s 1973 50 cent coin, I asked for it from Ikhwan while we sent him and Marsya to school in the afternoon. Immediately after I asked about it, Ikhwan said to me no need to advertise the coin in Mudah because there is already a buyer for the coin. I was surprise!!! Then I asked who is the buyer?
He said it was me. Haha…this guy has understand some piece of business now. That’s cool. He asked for RM10. I said I’ll only pay RM5 for it. Then he agreed. However I think RM5 is too much for him as I am his daddy. So, I bargained and asked if he can let it go for RM3. Earlier we refused but after explaining that I was the one who taught him about coin collection and also bought him the album, he agreed to let the coin go for RM3.
At home after school, he gave me the 1973 – 50 cent coin and asked for RM3. I gave him the cash and he smiled. It was his first transaction and product sale. He then asked my helped him advertise his 3 pieces of 100 Rupiah coins which was produced in 1978. He wanted to sell it for RM10 each but I think that is too expensive. I said, better let it go for RM5 only. We’ll see how it goes. If there’s no buyer, maybe we’ll reduce the price.
For this round, since he is still new, I will show Ikhwan how to published the ad in Mudah.my. I expect him to do it himself later in future. The only downside is he don’t have a contact number if any potential buyer wants his coin(s). Maybe, he can use my number or my wife’s number.

oh nooo, sya takde 1975 tu cuma tnya napa tak collect 75 instead of 73 sbb u punya tahun lahir kan… sya mmg fail bab collection ni coz org boros kan..huhuuu

I’m collecting all years. Dari 1965 sampai sekarang. Since you tanya 1975 dah ada ke belum, I jawap takde lah.
My birth year is 1976 not 1975.

That is really great. I remember the first time I had made money when i was young. My Father opened up a saving account and matched everything I put in. I had quite the saving when it came time for being on my own. My Father also started a coin and stamp collection for us when we were little that we all have carried on throughout the years.
