My New Copper Coins
After rewarding myself some silver coins and bars, I am very delighted to received a tube of copper coin. Yep, it just arrived today and it is part of my coin collection… Check out the photos below. What do you think of it?

The black coating on silver coins is more often copper sulfide, since coins are typically 7.5% or 10% copper. On pure silver coins a black coating is almost always sweat and dirt. A pure silver coin exposed to sulfur compounds will form a film of many colors, mostly blue or green but unpredictable. You can put a silver coin in a container with a small amount of cooked egg yolk to observe the effects. Use only a small amount of yolk, not touching the coin.
