Analyzing My Liquid Sample
I’m presently in the Bioprocess lab running and testing some standards + my own samples. The Bioprocess lab is just opposite my Reaction Engineering Lab. The equipment ‘m using is called Gas Chromatography – Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID). Don’t worry, you don’t need to memorize the name of that equipment. This is the 3rd day I have been staying put in this lab, analyzing and understanding the beahviour and identity of my samples. It’s very tricky and mysterious. But, as a Ph.D student, it is my task to solve this huge puzzle. Sometimes I play around and think hard about formulating a new reaction mechanism, and some other time I’m doing other parts of my study. Fuh…
Some of my samples and standards.
That is a microsyringe. To inject very small volume, just use this syringe. It can go down to 1 microliter!!!
Sometimes I wonder, when will my Ph.D be completed!!! I need to get it done once and for all…Otherwise I’ll be insane!!!

Yes, you can do that. In fact, it would probably be helpful in identifying each component unless you already know the elution order of the three compounds.
