Helping My Neighbour to Start A Business
It’s Saturday and so far it is a nice weekend. I woke up early unlike other Saturdays (kantoi). Well, actually, I would like to share a story. Roughly 3 weeks ago, my neighbour suddenly passed away. The caused is said to be a combination between heart attack and pneumonia. He was a good friend of mine although there is an age gap between us (he is in his early 50s). We always discuss about business late at night outside of our house and also while in duty during the KRT (Kumpulan Rukun Tetangga) in our neighbourhood. I have helped him promote his coffee business previously.
On the day he passed away, I was with my wife in Shanghai. More about this Shanghai stuff coming soon. I have no idea at all about the tragedy until her wife SMS me when we landed in Malaysia 2 days after he passed away. It was a shocking news to me and a terrible lost to all of us. Arwah (that’s how we call Muslim who has passed away), has great knowledge and is good in treating sick people the Islamic way using Al-Quran versus. He is capable of chasing away evil spirit etc that stays inside someones body or someones house. Many sick people come and approach him for help. It’s almost like Ustaz Harun Din or Darul Syifak.
He is the sole breadwinner of the family and since the tragic day, the entire family need to think of a strategy to survive this world. When me and my wife visited the wife of arwah, we offered our help if in case there is anything that we can do to assist them in any way. We understood that it is difficult for a housewife to begin working and earn money after almost 20 years managing the house and family. Now, she has to think of how to earn for the family.
Today, arwah’s wife SMS me and asked my help to start a business. Without any hesitation I replied that I will help her start a business in our work place. However, the business plan is still not clear and certain. We need to ask somebody who actually run a cafe in our work place and see how they can offer to help my neighbour. In addition to that, I also suggested her to start an online business. An online business will make her stay at home and just run the business from the comfort of home while at the same time manage the family. She thinks it is a good idea. She asked me if it is ok to sell product “A”. I responded, that’s great. I then asked her to register an email address and start an account in Facebook. That’s crucial for any online business. The next lesson I will inform her soon when she has Product “A” ready as well as the email address and Facebook account. I hope all of you can also support her (my neighbour).
Product “A” is suitable for women. Actually it is part of women accessories. When the product is ready and the business is officially launch, I will announce it to all of you. This is not a business partnership what so ever between me and my neighbour. I’m 100% helping the family sincerely. I would like them to be able to earn money independently and live like other family.
