Google Adwords – Step by Step Seminar
I attended the Google Adwords Step by Step seminar yesterday. It was the sort of training that I wanted to attend since last year. I wanted to learn and comprehend the skill of advertising using Google Adwords. Previously I have used Google Adwords to promote several of my niche blogs. That was 4-6 years ago. I was naive and have zero experience using Google Adwords. After some time, I stopped using it. I need to know what I am doing and dealing with. Otherwise my investment would not be worthwhile.
I have known that Wanmus, my old friend has established himself as a Google partner and masters the art of advertising using Google Adwords. On several occasions, I wanted to learn from him but the timing wasn’t right.
Fortunately yesterday, I managed to attend the class that he organized in Skudai, Johor Bahru. The class started from 8.30am to almost 6.00pm. The venue was comfortable and conducive. Unfortunately, the most crucial element was not there. The internet line/connection was notoriously poor. It was expected that the fiber optics facility should work perfectly well. However, on that particular day, the fiber optics was reported under maintenance or repaired. As a result we were left with unreliable internet. Some of us brought our own broadband. However, all of them, which were from leading brands in Malaysia, were very disappointing. We were in a seminar that heavily depends on the internet but was victimized with such poor broadband performance. Indeed lack of quality and class. Alas.
Luckily, all of us were not demotivated with the poor internet. Despite of the problem, we still enjoyed the moment simply because we wanted to explore and learn something very important. We learned about how to search and narrow down imperative keywords, learn the tips and tricks on how to right a good text advertisement, learn the tips and tricks on how to get our ads rank well but at the cheapest price compared to our competitors. After lunch break, I discovered that my ads were live and running. Wow…that’s fast! At no time, I got 5 clicks, which meant I have to pay for it since I’m advertising. My ad impression was quite high and I was impressed. My ad click-through-rate (CTR) was about 6-7% at that time. I immediately asked Wanmus to help me pause the ad. This is mainly because I have not prepared a good and converting landing page to promote a product. I came to the seminar without any product to sell…haha… However, the others already have at least one or more items to sell and most of them have their own landing page(s). But the good thing is that I’ve got and experience running the google adwords in a smarter way.
What to do next?
I need to identify one or two products to sell, create a good converting landing page and start promoting the landing page via Adwords. Any recommendations?
