13 years Ago, History was made
Today, 13 years ago,we were officially married. It was initially tough but everything eventually turned out Alhamdulillah fine. Read my blogpost reflection after 12 years anniversary.
It was 13 years ago we started in a rented house at Taman Desa Skudai. The rent was RM500 per month. We purchased the cheapest but most reasonable furnitures and electrical appliances. It was a small intermediate single storey house but we were happy together.
Back then, it was just the two of us. Back then our combined salary was RM3300 per month only. Back then, we drove a Proton Iswara hatched back that I purchased from my father. Back then, we live a very simple life, both of us still studying, striving to complete our masters degree in chemical engineering. Back then we were both skinny. We also tried like mad to gain extra salary doing several types of multi-level-marketing business. Unfortunately we failed miserably. Nevertheless, we love each other. That’s the most important thing.
Today, 13 years after that date, almost everything had changed. We managed to improved substantially, thanks to God who allow everything to take place. We can only try but it is Allah who permit it to happen, based on off course our effort.
Today, we have 4 wonderful kids together. Today, Alhamdulillah we live in a very decent and spacious house. Today, we drive a great MPV and a tiny Kancil. We have a maid who has been with us for 9 years, assisting us nursing our kids while we are away working.
Today, our combine salary is few times our initial salary (I should not mention our salaries here – confidential). We have a very decent job. Alhamdulillah. On top of that we have decent part time income, which enable us to help our parents, siblings and relatives, as well as giving contributions and donations. Today, we gained some great percentage when it comes to our weight. This is not a good sign, off course.

We were blessed with great families, great friends, great surrounding, great rezeki, and much more. At this moment, I just want to praise the God, for everything that was given to us. Yes, we were tested with some difficulties but Alhamdulillah we managed to overcome it. We also went through the 5 stages of life after marriage so far. I hope we can continuously become a good human being, a good servant to the God, a good example to our peers and community, InsyaAllah.
I would like to end this with saying this to my wife, “My love to you is still the same like what it was 13 years ago. I love you so much”.
