There are many important things to do upon arriving in Newcastle. The earliest was to make sure we received our luggage in the airport. Then, to have somebody to help us in the early days in Newcastle. That was pretty much done by Mr. Azizul and family who has been such a wonderful and charming host. Other post graduates also helped us a lot. Then the most important thing after that is for us to search for our own house.

So, the next day which is day #2, we got out of the house and start searching for potential houses via real estate agent. It was really tough to get a house to be rent for just 2 months. However, Mr. Azizul helped us around to visit more and more real estate agent in various locations and areas in Newcastle. I already know that this will be a tough assignment. Coming to Newcastle without a confirm place to stay in a weather that has temperature between 1-7 Celcius.

Me and Mr. Azizul in the Metro train. He brought along his 2 year old daughter, Fatimah Arisa. Mr. Azizul's wife is the one doing Ph.D in Newcastle University and her supervisor and mine is the same. The only thing is I have not met my supervisor yet.

We arrived at this place which was supposed to be a potential place to stay according to the Newcastle University accomodation officer. Yes, the flat is available and can be rented for 2 months. It's very close to the university. But then the landlord do not accept children because according to her, the unit is small and not suitable. There we go... we need to search and hunt for house again.

After a long walk hunting for house, we stopped and check out this Restoran Nusantara, a Malaysian restaurant in the city center of Newcastle city. The owner is a Malay Malaysian and has operating this restaurant for several years already.

This is the Nasi Lemak (coconut rice) that we enjoyed. It cost about 5 pounds. The chicken portion is huge. It's equivalent to the chicken leg.

Then we continue walk again, hunting for another real estate agent to get another house.

Greggs is a popular bread shop in Newcastle. It is literally everywhere.

Home sweet home. This is Mr. Azizul's house. This view is from the rear part and entrance is via the kitchen. His house is huge inside. That's why he and his family can host us.

If you are Malaysian, chances are you have already seen an advertisement almost similar to this video showcasted few years ago. However, that doesn’t matter. This video is really a lovable and heart touching story between a father and his son. It maybe different from the Dog Story movie that I shared few years ago which resulted me to cry (real man cry) for almost one hour. OK, this video simply shows that parent’s love is better than other’s love. Love your parents while they are still alive. If not, pray for them. If you like this amazing video and want to share it with others, why not LIKE the video.

Another morale of the story is keep a diary or a record on your child/children growing up. It is good to look at it back again and flashback some good memories. It this era, you can record them by digital cameras and camcorders, and then post them in your own family blog or Facebook or somewhere… The choice is yours…

Ops…sorry for not continuing the School Holiday Break story for now… I just want to make way for the first day school report… The holiday story will follow suit soon…

Today is a meaningful and happy day not for our kids but also for us, the parents. Today, all of them stepped and spend some time in their new school. This new school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulai Perdana is a brand new school. Everything is new. New furniture, new buildings, new management, new students, new teachers… But the most important thing is this school is one session only…huray!!! That means my kids which are in standard 1, 2 and 4 are all in the morning session. It’s easier to handle them… They informally started today mainly for orientation purpose – to facilitate and introduce the new students to the school features/facilities/room etc. Check out some of the photos that I managed to snapped just now…

The holiday season is ending. I’m sure most of us had at least one decent holiday recently. Well, we had ours as well. It was quite difficult to decide where we should spend the vacation with our kids. We have considered going overseas up but finally after considering flexibility of moving, we decided to just visit Melaka and Port Dickson. So, my wife booked for us a 2 night stay at Afamosa Resort in Melaka and 1 night at Grand Lexus Port Dickson.

The one that really caught my attention and interest is the Grand Lexus Port Dickson hotel. I have been eying to spend a night in this exclusive hotel. Why? Because this is a hotel that have private pool in each single room in it. The only thing hindering us from spending a night there is the cost per night. However, this year, Alhamdulillah, we have some rezeki that we can afford to pay such amount of cash to have a taste of this room.

The room in Grand Lexus Pord Dickson has a glass window floor for us to view the sea surface.

This is the small private pool that in our unit. Because this unit is not at the far end that faced Selat Melaka, I decided to upgrade our room so that we have a better view which faces the sea. That’s an additional RM150 just for the view. I have not state how much is the room rate. Any guess?

Unfortunately, the hotel room photos accidentally disappeared. So, I cannot show it here.

I should have posted this very earlier. Unfortunately, as some of you know, I don’t have the luxury of time to do that. Orait…straight to the point. After 6 years, Alya finally had a birthday party. Not only that she had a birthday party, she also had 2 birthday cakes (within a space of 4 days). Check out her birthday cakes… hehe…

The first birthday cake is the Angry bird birthday cake. Officiated on her own birthday at house (after work). The second birthday cake was the Princes birthday cake (ordered and purchased from Secret Recipe). It weighs 6 kg and it’s really heavy!!! It is also toooooo sweet… I cannot cope with the extend of sugar in the icing of this cake… uh…
