Out of routine

Published by cyza under Blogging ~ Sharring

yellow_guy_crazy_hg_wht

Currently I’m blogging from my brother in law’s house in Bukit Beruntung, a cowboy town adjacent to Rawang. Luckily he has the streamyx broadband installed in his extended corner lot house.

Earlier, after Ikhwan school session ended on a brisk Friday afternoon, we headed up north to Cemor, a small town north of Ipoh to attend a cousin’s wedding. The wedding was held on Saturday afternoon but the preparation took place 2-3 days earlier.

We arrived at the house in Cemor at 2.00 am. We relaxed and then slept at the living hall. The next day, I spared my physical energy to assist the cooking process. I helped to do some “kenduri” activity stuffs. It was really tiring but well, I rather help than just sit and see. However, the most interesting thing is my kids also helped and that was very nice to see. I’ll upload some photos about that soon after I arrive back to my home in JB.

Later the same day, we move down south to Bukit Beruntung. There were all together 9 people in my white Proton Exora, which include my mother, father and sister in law.

We arrived at Bukit Beruntung and landed safely in the house at 9 pm. All of us relaxed, watched some malay drama and later end the night – sleeping zzzzzzzz…..

We are going to continue our journey to Kuantan later this afternoon and stay in Kuantan until Wednesday.

Hence, within that time, I maybe not connected to the internet. I’ll use the time to do my offline work…. hehe…

OK, that’ s it…a little update from me… Have a nice prosperous holiday.

AirAsia Issue Settled

Published by cyza under Blogging ~ Sharring

Furious with AirAsia, we went to AirAsia Office at Senai Airport. We kindly explained to the officer in-charge of the situation. She then refered to another person before asking us which date we would like to transfer the flight. It seems that AirAsia has already cut the number of flights from Johor Bahru to Surabaya.

I nicely explained to the officer that AirAsia should have informed the passenger to reschedule the flight to another closer date instead of just letting their passengers wonder about the flight cancellation and/or the refund.

Oh yes… AirAsia do not refund money…

HP 5610 Printer – My New Baby

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

I’ve just returned from JB PC Fair 2008 at Persada Perdana Johor Bahru. I wanted to get a 4 in 1 (all in one) printer. I went there with my beloved wife. The hall was pack with two types of human beings: (1) sellers and (2) buyers. I was a potential buyer for a 4 in 1 printer. Hence, we surveyed for either the Canon and HP printers. Prices varies a lot. So, we asked for the price and what freebies they the sellers are offering. Walking wasn’t easy. Our paced were very slow because of the flux of human present. Finally we purchased a HP 5610 printers for RM439. However, I’m so satisfied with the amount of freebies we got. We received a white cotton England towel, a HP grey coloured t-shirt, a set of England coaster, a trolley, HP small hard cover note book, HP orange colour pouch, a Mosarati black pen worth more then RM 100 (they claimlah) and HP USB fan. That’s all together 8 types of freebies. :) . I’m heading to Jaya Jusco Tebrau City, JB. See you…

Mission accomplish! Me and my new HP Officejet 5610 The free trolley is very useful to drag the printer around the hall. This was my second time visiting a pc fair and my first time purchasing from a PC fair. I’ve no idea if all this while – trolley is a free gift?!

Displaying my freebies . I really love the white England towel, HP T-shirt, England coasters (4 of them) and the Mosarati black pen.

Pasir Gudang Kite Festival is Hot!

Published by zaki under Uncategorized

On a bright sun warm sun shiny day, we went to Bukit Layang-layang, Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru, Malaysia to witness the International Kite Festival 2008 which is held from 19-24 February 2008. It is the last day and the park was still flooded with people and vehicles parking alongside it. Various activities were organized to attract local and international visitors. This is the second time I brought my family to the kite festival.

kite1

A giant Egypt pharaoh kite flew in the air. The contestant is from USA.

kite2

That’s the contestant pulling his pharaoh on the dry yellowish grass. The rain has not hit Pasir Gudang for about 1 month.

A bunch of fast food restaurant also participated in the kite festival. Among them are Kentucky Friend Chicken, Pizza Hut and Ayamas. Well, they all come from the same mother company!

kite 12

What is this? I’m not sure. Maybe it’s a type of kite as well…

kite 13

Me with that mini umbrella hat. That cost us only MYR 5. It’s cool under that “umbre-hat” ;) .

kite 14

Me playing with my kids. There are hundreds of other kite enthusiast playing around huge park.

kite 15

I told you there are a lot of kites there…

I don’t know whether a similar international kite festival is held in other places or not? But, it is definitely an annual event in Johor Bahru. If you miss this, you can come here again next year. It’s really fantastic but it’s hot (warm).

Kedai Makan Rahmat, Kampung Pasir Putih, Pasir Gudang

Published by zaki under Food Stuff

Kelmarin, sebelum lunch break, member sekerja aku telefon dan ajak makan tengahari. Aku tanya, “Apesal tiba-tiba takde puting beliung, takde taufan, tetibe je ajak makan?”. Dia kata, “Alah….ikut je lah…. Ada orang belanja makan, makan aje la…”. Aku yang memang tengah diet time tu, terpaksalah follow he member aku tu.

Tepat jam 1300 Hrs, aku pun jumpa member aku kat tempat scan card dan clock out. Rupanya dia kata ada supplier nak belanja makan.

Well, takpe lah, kita makan sajalah.

k4

Ini bukan kali pertama aku mengunjung kedai makan ni. Kalau tak silap percaturan aku, ini mungkin kali ke-3 aku singgah bersantap kat sini dalam tempoh hampir 3 tahun aku mencari sekeping pizza sesuap nasi di Pasir Gudang. Masuk dalam kedai makan je, Fuhhh!!! Ramainya manusia.

Let’s check it out?

kedai makan rahmat 1

Semua meja memang penuh. Siap ada orang kena berdiri tunggu nak makan. Tapi aku ter”miss” ambil gambar orang berdiri.

kedai makan rahmat 4

k2

Foto ikan siakap – sudut utara.

sambal

Sambal kicap untuk dicicah semasa melahap si siakap tu.

kedai makan rahmat 2

Aneka masakan melayu nusantara menjadi sajian. Lauk-lauk lain pun sederhana macam biasa.

belacan

Sambal belacan, bukan aku yang nak, tapi member Tionghua aku yang menggemarinya.

k6

Kalau nak minta fresh orange, minta maaflah… Takde. Tapi Kedai Makan Rahmat menawarkan air limau special.

k6

Bukan setakat rumah dan pondok kecil atas laut, tapi tampak di situ kren berkuasa besar berdekatan dermaga pelabuhan Pasir Gudang.

So, kalau korang berminat nak merasakan suasana desiran bayu sambil melahap menu utama ikan siakap size besar, menghalalah ke Johor Bahru > Pasir Gudang > Kampung Pasir Puteh > melalui beberapa rumah kedai dan jalan kampung. Kalau tersesat, tanyalah orang tepi jalan, tapi orang tepi jalan tu mestilah orang di kawasan Kampung Pasir Puteh. Tapi jangan datang malam sebab tak buka.

Harga, kira ok lah.

My Previous Six Days Recap

Published by zaki under Food Stuff

Time is moving super fast. Without realizing it is already another new weekend and I’m glad I don’t have to work this Saturday. That means I can spend more quality time with my beloved family. The past few days was not really a typical one for me. It was slightly different one and we need to adjust accordingly.

Christmas Holiday

While almost everybody on earth was enjoying the Christmas holiday, I have to motivate myself to go to work. The oil processing plant that I’m in charged was on a final piece of maintenance work and need to be started immediately. I need to be there to ensure everything was going on smoothly and according to schedule. Fortunately I don’t have to spend the entire day there. The supervisors, operators and technicians were there to continue the work.

sate

Later the same day, we had sate (satay) for our dinner at our favourite place, Taman Universiti food stall. We loved the sate a lot and recently we eat there once a week. The sate is cheap, only 30 cents per piece (chicken and beef). i prefer this type of sate rather than the one sold at Kajang which is bigger and cost 50 cents. We prefer it smaller and crispier externally.

Boxing day English Premiership Battle

This was another joyous moment for two giant EPL clubs. Manchester United Red Devil demolished Roy Kean’s Wild Cats 4-0 (thanks to the fantastic goals blasted by Rooney, Ronaldo and Saha) while The Reds escaped from a point after skipper Steven Gerard managed to capitalized the mess in the opponents penalty box in dying minutes. Victory for Manchester United and the drawless battle between ArsenalPortsmouth resulted in MUFC moved up to the top spot.

My wife went to Kuching, Sarawak

I sent her to Senai Airport, Johor Bahru as early as 5.45 AM Thursday morning to ensure she checked in and safely boarded the Air Asia Boeing 737 aircraft to Kuching. She presented a technical paper in the Engineering Conference : Energy and Environment which was held in Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel. Her absence from home was a disaster because it was not easy to take care of our three kids. The first two were relatively easier to handle as they are old enough. However, the third who just recently turned 2 years old always sleeps with her mother. Without the mother beside her, she could not sleep. She cried all night and it was a scary nightmare for me and the maid. We survived that night with very less sleep.

Fortunately, my wife spent only one night in Kuching. She safely touched down at Senai Airport yesterday night with some flight delay, which made me and my kids spending more than one hour in the airport. Handling three highly energetic physically active kids (with age 5, 3.5 and 2 years old) alone in the airport was not a simple task for an exhausted man like me. They ran and played in and outside the airport. At one point Ikhwan and Marsya wanted to pee. I have to drag all three of them, four including me, into the small toilet, and completed our business inside there! I’ve never experienced being in the toilet with four peoples. I bet my wife haven’t experienced that too…

Nufflets.com – Asia’s New Online Advertising Network

nufflets1

After reading about Nufflets.com in a few local blogs, i was tempted to sign up and test it out. Signing up was pretty simple and easy. I opted for the 468 x 60 pixels format and positioned the add on the top right corner of this blog with striking red colour. The display format is almost similar as Google Adsense but differs from the other local advertising network: Advertlets and Nuffnang. I believe the emergence of Nufflets.com is very much welcomed by local and Asian bloggers especially those who blog in their mother tongue language. I would like to congratulate Nabil (Nufflets.com co-founder) and his team members for their brave and brilliant effort in realizing the fourth local advertising network. If you have not yet registered with Nufflets.com, do it now. They are giving $15 upon signing up and after you blog about it.

Blogging with a new laptop

After purchasing the new HP Compact Presario laptop last week and after my colleague helped installed Vista, I’m blogging with it now. It’s my first time playing around with Vista and I definitely need some time to get use to it. Some people say using a Window Vista require bigger RAM. I’m using 1 Gb RAM, which is the minimum recommended RAM to run Vista and I found the speed is fast. So far, I’m pleased and happy with the performance of this new laptop.
