This is the biggest earthquake ever observed in Japan since Meiji period
(approx 100 years ago) and of course i never experience something like this
Public transportation stopped, people all around the road walking back
home. people got panic, depressed, solitary, it’s quite chaotic.
I decided to stay back at my office. Thanks god the phone and internet is
working so I can still be connected to my family and friends. But the
cellphone is not working.
It’s gonna be a long night….There are still aftershocks…
The earthquake had resulted tsunami in certain countries such as Japan and Philippines. Luckily, our country (on the east side) is fine…
After the March 11, 2011 8.8 magnitude quake in Japan, a freak whirlpool was formed along the coast off Japan. Nobody is sure what caused the whirlpool itself.

North-east Japan has been swamped by a major tsunami – and the entire Pacific region is now on alert. It was caused by an 8.9-magnitude earthquake that struck 130 kilometres off the eastern coast – sending a reported 10-metre wall of water inland, causing widespread devastation. 61 people are confirmed dead – but that number’s expected to rise. The wave has also reached Russia’s Kuril islands to the north, reportedly around a metre high. In Japan, 200 people have reportedly been washed away, with several others missing in Japan’s Sendai city. Tokyo’s been all-but shut down – with fires and injuries widely reported there. Millions are without electricity. Norita International Airport is also closed. 20 powerful aftershocks have been recorded since the first quake, which was the strongest ever recorded in Japan – and the 6th biggest-ever. An earthquake has now been felt in Hawaii – measuring 4.5 – with tsunami waves expected within a few horus.
A 8.9-magnitude earthquake has triggered a tsunami along Japan’s north-eastern coastline, and scores are feared killed. Cars, boats, homes and people were swept away as fires burned out of control.
